The riverside City Botanic Gardens are Brisbane's original botanic gardens.
Attractions at the gardens include Bamboo Grove, Weeping Fig Avenue, Mangrove Boardwalk and ornamental ponds. Special events are held at the River Stage.

You can also catch a bus or ferry to the gardens. The free Loop bus stops on Alice Street and George Street. CityCat and City Ferry terminals are located at the bottom end of Edward Street and at the rear of Parliament House.
Disabled access is available at each gate, except the Parliament House entrance. Disabled car parking is available just inside the Edward Street gate and behind the Garden Café (entry via Gardens Point Road).
The picnic area is at the rear of the City Botanic Gardens, opposite the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). A sheltered pavilion is in this open grassed area. Limited car parking is available.
Other popular locations for picnics include the Royal Palms Lawn and areas around the playground. You'll also find picnic tables and seats in shaded areas throughout the gardens and along the riverbank.
The City Gardens Cafe is situated in the curator's cottage. It's open from 8am to 5pm daily for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
